Take advantage of these!

On October 4th & 5th, twenty four museums will be free! I had to share this juicy bit of information I just heard of recently. Also, reminder that the Detour Festival is October 4th with probably innumerable (great) shots waiting to happen! I'll be going to that too! :) Why not go to the festival on Saturday and then your choice of museum(s) the next day!

here is the link of all the museums that will be offering free admission:

What's Big and Black and Not My Cock?

The La Brea Tar Pits! That's what.

so this is short notice i know... but hey, that's just how we roll around here. total spontaneity. but we're going to be checking out the pits this saturday the 20th, meeting around 11:00am. kinda like what we've been doing all along now, meeting up in front of the Page Museum and then just exploring the place and the surrounding area.

so come one, come all and join us for our third official meeting. hooray!

schools in

so it turns out that a gallery in downtown has an upcoming course offered which teaches about toy cameras and what amazingness they have to offer. it's going down on october 11 from 12:00-4:00. the downside about it though is that it'll set you back $165 for the 4 hour course (i mean come on, doesn't that go against the code of plastic photography?). but it's taught by a photographer who apparently has gotten some serious recognition for her work with plastic cameras, so it may be worth it but know once can really know.

the gallery is called studio 538 and you can find info on the course here. and you can look into the instructor's work here. the pic bellow is a sample shot of her work.

i sadly can't make it that day, so if you happen to you'll definitely have to let me know how it turns out.

last second i know...

but it's the thought that counts right?

tomorrow is the Downtown LA Artwalk. you can get all the lovely details here. i'll definitely be checking it out later on in the evening, so let me know if you're also planning on heading out or maybe i'll bump into some familiar faces.

also, definitely be sure to check out SWITCH Gallery. a buddy of mine works with them and promises some good shit. if you need more convincing, get a taste here.
