so we think it's about time we hear from some other people out there and we get this dialogue going. so with that we ask:

1) who the hell are you?
2) what's in your lomographic arsenal?
3) how long have you been familiar with lomography? how were you introduced?
4) what is your proudest lomograph?
5) of the 10 rules, which one best applies to your personal style of shooting?
6) how do you explain lomography to people who have no knowledge of what it is?
7) any other tasty bits of information you would like to share with your fellow lomographers here in LA?

1. Darrin: Bon Vivant, Raconteur, Connaisseur.
2. I shoot with the LC-A+, but I also have a Holga I have yet to crack open.
3. I bought the LC-A+ in November of 2006 after I heard a story on NPR about toy cameras, and then found the lomo website through random browsing of Holga shots on flickr.
4. I am personally proudest of this shot, although I love all of them in my one set.
5. These rules, yes. They can free you from your normal way of shooting, but I still find myself shooting with this in mind: Not everything makes a good photo, but a good photo can come from anywhere. (Appropriated from yes, Ratatouille.)
6. Lomography refers to an alternative method of shooting film with a certain set of cameras, but it's also a branding term for the website, which sells said cameras and equipment. Embrace the art, but beware the commerce.
7. I love my LC-A+. I love the fun of shooting film and the way it can be whatever you make of it. Not knowing what you'll get back from the lab is as fun as discovering what worked and what didn't. The results you can get are often more stunning than any digital photo, especially when you have enough technical knowledge to get the most out of your camera. I dread the day when they no longer make film, but I don't think that's going to be anytime soon.

1. Maria: I'm a professional photographer from Mexico City. I moved to Irvine, CA about 3 years ago. Also a mother of a little boy named Liam.
2. I have a Holga, Supersampler, Actionsampler, Colorsplash and Splitcam.
3. The Holga was a birthday present from a friend in photo school, I bought the samplers in a lomostore in Spain and I won the Colorsplash and Splitcam for a lomohome of the day.

5. Don't worry about any rules.
6. Lomography means loosing control and enjoying the ride.
7. Thank you for inspiring me, to push me to keep shooting.

from our friend jaya:

"1) who the hell are you? I am Jaya, lover of robots, zombies, and lomo cameras.
2) what's in your lomographic arsenal? I usually bring around my Smena.
3) how long have you been familiar with lomography? how were you introduced? I've had different lomo cameras for the past 7 years, but wasn't really introduced to the craft of it until college photography class.
4) what is your proudest lomograph? I've mastered double exposures and the colorsplash flash! Love it!!
5) of the 10 rules, which one best applies to your personal style of shooting? "don't want to know beforehand." It makes no sense.
6) how do you explain lomography to people who have no knowledge of what it is? I just show them pictures -- words can't explain the awesomeness.
7) any other tasty bits of information you would like to share with your fellow lomographers here in LA? Nighttime photography + blue flash = interesting results.

If I wasn't so fucking tired, these would be better answers."
